Tara Stickers

$5.00

Tara is a deity of meditation and comes in various forms across many sects of buddhism. She therefore is associated with countless texts and traditions. Tara is a Bodhisattva, or a being who vows never to enter Nirvana until all sentient being have entered, she is therefore often referred to as the “Mother of Liberation.” Her various color representation can be correlated with a certain focus in worship.

Green Tara: The Savior, the mother of Buddha
Black Tara: The Source of all through sound
Red Tara: The Magnetizing through positive attraction
Blue Tara: The Protector by the conversion of anger and destruction of obstacles
Yellow Tara: The Provider for all who struggle
White Tara: The Healer of the sick

Every color representation of Tara buddha has its own associated symbolism. I’ve depicted Her with a handful of symbols. She holds both a closed and an opened lotus which represents the blossoming of compassion. Her third eye and the eye in her hand help her see through every obstacle while the book she reads represents her vast reservoir of wisdom. I’ve included my own symbolism as well, with a faint cesarean scar across her belly, representing her motherhood of buddha, and her dedication to the Bodhisattva vow. And she sits simply upon the earth, with all its defilements, but is thus the source of life, through decay and death.

These are highly durable matte vinyl die-cut stickers and come in at modest 2.5×3 inches. They stick to anything and last a long time, even on heavily worn and trafficked surfaces.
